I go by Medusa, she/her, antimony_medusa on Ao3 or antimony-medusa on tumblr. I hope you are having an excellent exchange, and thank you for taking on this gift! I have attempted to organise my thoughts in this letter, cause I saw the taglist for the exchange and just proceeded to vibrate like a poorly-balanced set of kitchen beaters, so I hope this helps.

Note that in most cases I have requested both sides of a ship being the one or ones hurt. If you have only offered one side of the ship, or you see a freeform and you go “the only thing that will satisfy me is Character A hurt” go ahead and use that as the person hurt. If you also offered both sides of the ship hurt, where applicable I have mentioned what person I’m viewing hurt when I see the freeform first, but I’m good with either person being hurt, that’s just a tie-breaker preference. But any time I use a name in a freeform note, feel free to sub in a different name if you’d prefer.

General DNW

This is a major exchange, so hopefully everyone’s on the same page with this, but just in case it isn’t or I hit your specific likes: nothing in my DNW is a value judgement, it’s just a list of specific triggers and squicks and preferences within the specific fandoms I’m operating in. If you love pregnancy fic, you go on with your bad self. Just not for me, in this exchange, please. Awesome, thank you.
Within the DNW, if the specifics of a freeform specify something that contradicts the DNW– for example MCD is on my DNW, but some of the freeforms include MCD in alternate timelines or backstory–I assume the freeform to take priority. I have a general DNW here, and have listed some fandom-specific DNWs where appropriate. I assume that if a thing comes up significantly in canon it’s okay to include with the characters who have it as a strong part of their narrative– I’d prefer not grief stories in general but c!phil is pretty informed by grief in canon– and have specified any exceptions to that in fandoms-specific DNWs

General Likes
Mostly I just love all the prompts in the freeforms and am happy to have any work dwell chiefly on that, but if you’re looking to fill out the details, here are some things I like!

Fandoms:

DSMP:

Be prepared, you’re gonna see a lot of Technoblade. It’s fine, I just like the funny block man who is very good at things. I like all my block men a normal amount. (she is lying.)

Anyways within the DSMP setting, I’m generally more fond of AUs (cause the canon has so much sadness in it and people are canonically in some Tense relationship statuses). However if canon-compliant is where your heart is, go for it. I have listed a little bit of what draws me to each of the relationships requested, and then any specifics about the freeforms requested.

Technoblade & Philza (Emduo):

Technoblade, my heart forever. I love the funny man, and how smart and competent he is, and his loyalties both to people and principles. He’s an anarchist and he cares so much, and he’s giving gifts to his friends. I love how he never takes anything seriously, and at the same time he’s very practical, and did I mention the funny?

Philza my favourite old man! He cares about people so much and he’s never processed an emotion in his life! He builds! He’s wearing an ancient outfit like nobody on the server! He’s so skrunkly! He’s SO OLD. He has a house next to his best friend!

Emduo is just important to me. Undying fealty? Battle buddies? Just the ease of friendship with someone you know so well-- maybe you knew them for centuries, maybe you just met and clicked? Either way you are just so completely comfortable together and you care about each other so much.

Freeforms:

Accidental time travel into combat zone: You KNOW they have wars in their pasts– back into backstory or even back before they met?
BAMF character A is hurt/sick and is still a BAMF; character B provides comfort anyway: Literally every way I imagine this is a banger. Go crazy go stupid.
Bodyswap--character's hidden or downplayed pain/illness is discovered because of bodyswap: Oooooo that’s the goodstuff.
Character A cooks for or feeds Character B after truamatic event or big fight: Some domesticity.
Character A escapes from captivity; Character B discovers extent of their injury: My BOYS, they CARE about each other. In canon with techno in prison or literally everything is good.
Character A jumped in front of a bullet to save B; B waits A's wake up never leaving their bedside: some devotion for the road.
Character being rescued can’t quite believe rescuer is real and not a fakeout/hallucination: 😭
character is having trouble sleeping after being in prison: This works in canon or an au! Hell yeah!
Character Who Believes They'll Be Tortured/Killed Begs Mercy For Another: Just fuck me up, though please happy ending.
Comes from alternate timeline where everyone died: This is one of my MCD is okay IF in this one– this is the one where like, techno could have died (because we get a new techno), or maybe there are two technos now. Or two phils. But now they are FRIENDS.
Comfort focusing on little hurt because the big hurt is massive and unapproachable: You know how Phil is really sad about Wilbur and Techno is sad about being betrayed? You know how good they are about emotions?
compelled to follow orders: Because treating my boys as a weapon usually goes so well for the other people.
Dehumanized and Abused Character is Shown Genuine Love and Affection: Emduo is the first person who treats you as a real person my absolute beloved.
A Discovers the Extent of De-Aged B's Tragic Backstory While B Is De-Aged: I know kidfic is a tall order but what if we learn more about fighting rings past or horrible avian city or or or, and also these traumatised kids get good food and a warm place to sleep.
Gestures of Affection After Gladiator Fights: Perhaps? Perhaps?
Hurt/sick character gets to wear soft comfortable clothes: They deserve some softness.
Making Homemade Soup for a Sick Person: DOMESTICITY.
Person Used to Being Treated Like a Weapon Gets Rescued & Treated Like a Person Again: Okay I really like seeing each other as full beings with intrinsic worth.
Time-displaced Character A is punished for relationship with Character B: Star-crossed friends, perhaps? But they’re still friends despite it? I’d ideally see this as a kidfic, cause like, who manages to punish a grown up philza minecraft, but you do you.
Time-displaced Character A finds that things are better in the future: Good Things Are Possible!

Quackity & Wilbur Soot OR Quackity/Wilbur Soot (TNTduo/Quackbur):

Oh my god do I view these two as pathetic men. They try so hard, and they get so far, and in the end, does it even really matter? Ideal vibes is a wet cat and a duck who’s been soaked in oil, biting each other. BUT– and this is important– if you come near they will turn in perfect unison and attack you. Do not distract them from their very important task of pathetically being enemies. “Enemies.” Note that like, I know that legit these guys would be toxic probably in real life if they were kissing, but I’m mostly just in it for the wacky hijinks. Like I will argue with you for fourteen hours a day but at the end of the day you’re important to me. Also you’re hot (possibly). HOW DARE YOU–

Freeforms:

Punishment Collar Has to Be Worn for Reasons; Now It's Malfunctioning: Okay so the vision for this one is definitely less kinky and more wacky hijinks– tntduo has escaped from some sort of prison, but they haven’t properly gotten wilbur’s shock collar off. Attempt to be normal and escape proceeds while wilbur is being shocked every five minutes.
Wingfic - grooming neglected wings: I think that Quackity would not take care of his wings maybe he asks Wil or maybe Wil notices but I think that’s an opportunity for bonding and making each other feel good/safe and BOY do they hate the whole time that this is happening.
Neither comforter or comfortee will directly acknowledge that comforting is taking place: I mean.
Making Robot/AI Comfortable By Helping With Much-Needed Maintenance: ROBOT WILBUR. And he takes TERRIBLE care of himself and the other person has professional pride and they gripe the whole time but at the end Wil has range of motion again.
Hurt character believes rescue/help has a price tag; surprised when there isn't one: I mean. Shades of “i’m the only person allowed to hurt you” maybe, but mostly I feel like going to your enemy and then finding your enemy’s like “no that’s fine same time next week your hair sucks” is rich.
Character A is surprised when Character B wants their help and not someone else's: Oh my enemy, my ally, they deserve to be sick and think of the person they have a psychocompetative relationship with first.
Character has The Most Dramatic Reaction to a papercut possible: More! Pathetic! Men! 2k23!
Character being their usual awful self is strangely comforting: Look they revolve around each other like binary stars.
Character comforted after having mundanely terrible day where a thousand small things go wrong: You know how both of these guys have the worst luck in the world? Quackity deserves to get his foot crushed in the door and Wil’s like “okay let me pour you a drink” and then quackity sits down and then the chair breaks out from under him. And then, idk, cuddles. Follow your bliss.
Character A abandons plans in order to rescue Character B: What do you MEAN Wilbur is in danger this is IMPORTANT cancel all my plans we need to go get him.
after much pining & almost dying A (bloody & bruised) comes straight to B & kisses them in public: I just think it would be cute. Quackity deserves to be startled by kisses and then everybody has to flee cause boy is he getting into it.
A accused of crimes; only B believes they're innocent: Well OBVIOUSLY I know you didn’t do the murder/prison break/etc, you always spend friday evenings alone trying to learn card tricks, I was watching you through spy glasses. (God they’re pathetic.)
A’s pining found to be requited as B helps them recover from serious injury: Make those men pine! And then take care of each other! And then make them make out! Or be friends if you selected the &!
cuddle or die: heheheheheheheheheheheh they “hate” each other and yet.

Technoblade & Tommyinnit (Bedrock Bros):

Technoblade my beloved guy who will joke his way through everything but also cares. Tommyinnit also a guy who cares so much. They should be friends. And sometimes enemies. I am chill with these two in a pseudo-brotherly relationship, but I am not a huge fan of bio-fam or anything where like, they’ve known each other for a decade and a half (and techno is particularly evil cause he’s got a complex relationship with his little brother :grimace:). Not that please. Let them have a complex relationship where Techno’s trying to be helpful to this feral raccoon and Tommy’s got hero worship goggles on, but also they met at work or across the battlefield or are neighbours or are got decanted from neighbouring test tubes, or something. My preference is for Techno-centric, but I am also a big sister and tommy is also beloved, so.

Freeforms:

Character(s) with strong powers being used as literal/metaphorical weapons: Hello to my favourite BAMF, Technoblade. Hello to someone who thinks he’s so cool and also treats him like a person.
Character believes it's obvious that they're the expendable one; other characters strongly disagree: More! Self! Sacrifice! 2k23
Unexpected Mercy - Character Expects To Be Tortured/Killed; Begs Mercy For Another But Not Self: More Self Sacrifice 2k23! (Happy ending plz though I am a fragile bb.)
Technically awful attempts at comfort are actually comforting: Neither of those boys knows how to talk to people, but they care SO MUCH.
Memory issues make character run away from allies so enemy ends up helping them: So what if superhero au and tommy gets whammied and Techno the villain ends up helping him? Or the other way around? Just a thought.
Hurt A is so out of it they initially don’t recognize B and assume they’re there to hurt them more: Consider it.
Hurt character receives better treatment from enemies than friends: SUPERHERO AU. Or Fantasy AU. Or Space. Go stupid go crazy.
Character hurt by bad reputation gets vindicated/correctly understood by people they care about: It’s about KNOWING the other person wouldn’t do something cruel/dishonourable/Like That.
Character A Takes A Blow Meant For Character B: 😭
Character A pretends to be Character B in order to save them from a terrible fate: Back at it again with the self sacrifice (though again plz a happy ending)
Character expects to be punished but is unexpectedly comforted instead: What if expecting cruelty but softness instead? What if your enemies respect you?
Character A insists they doesn't care about Character B; also insists on providing comfort: have these two ever verbally communicated their feelings in their life? No.

Ranboo & Tubbo OR Ranboo/Tubbo (Beeduo):

I’m fine with either romantic, platonic, or ambiguous! I think the more important thing is what they’re up to, and that is being weird to/around each other. Tubbo experimenting on Ranboo! Ranboo lying to Tubbo about his entire life! Admitting your past only cause you think your partner’s gonna forget! And yet they still saw that weird little guy doing war crimes and were like yes, that one. Let’s adopt a kid together. Absolutely deranged behaviour, I love them. They like each other soooooo much and they need sooooo much marriage therapy. Just two guys with so much trauma trying their best.

Amnesia - A pretends to be B's trusted partner to mess with them but catches feelings in the process: Okay the obvious choice is ranboo amnesia, but it could be interesting either way .

Okay this one is a moonshot to even have in the tag set. 192 fics on the archive. But just in CASE there’s someone else who loves these guys…

My feelings about Emduo above and below also relate to Emduo in this setting: I love the sort of ease of best friendship they have, absolutely trusting each other to watch each other’s back and that the other person is going to be so terrifyingly competent. And in this setting, they’re co-emperors! Everybody is afraid of them! Phil just got nicknamed The Angel Of Death and boy does it seem fitting! Techno has social anxiety and everyone thinks he’s so cool! Phil has a shulker box of Air strikes! They fought a dragon on the moon! So many different types of fantasy empire vibes! Maybe space, you do you!

My favourite focus is Antarctic Empire, and of that focus AEduo, but I also like sneeg (and calvin! And sophie!) as side characters if you’d like to flesh out the empire or focus on someone else. And Wilbur is a favourite enemy/ally/guy in our DMs.

Freeforms:

Aftermath of Torture - Character trying to hold it together is clearly low-key fraying at the edges: I just think this would be fun.

Oh Origins, our beloved server with the most muddled lore possible. The server where everyone is evil and trying so hard. A community? Boy are all those guys wild though. I’m good with bunnyblade, witherblade, or “just some guy” human!techno, but I would prefer tubbo to be tubbee, not as interested in the shulker origin. I’m usually good with any of the origins characters being side characters in any story, as long as the focus is on the requested relationship.
